The house where Clémenceau was born
Twenty kilometres away, the Clémenceau museum opens its doors to you: discover the privileged location of the longère that was home to the last ten years of his life.
You'll love its impressionist garden, as well as the simplicity and charm of the house and the anecdotes of the Statesman.


The Haras de la Vendée
Half an hour from Les Sables d'Olonne, the Haras is a legacy of the national stud farms created by Napoleon.
It offers equestrian shows and a variety of activities, every day in July and August: carriage rides, guided tours, creative leisure activities, a meeting with a saddle-maker, costumed visits for children.
Le Logis de la Chabotterie
Just 45 minutes from the hotel, discover the Vendée dwelling as it was before the French Revolution, as well as its entertainment.
It is open all year round (except in January), and the programme includes: Charette's last journey, Charette's Treasure and, in summer, La Virée de Mauclerc, an outdoor show...


The Historial de la Vendée
50 minutes away, a unique and innovative museum with the support of new technologies, this museum retraces the history of the Vendée over more than 7000 years in a fun and modern way with areas dedicated to Prehistory, Antiquity, the Vendée wars, the 19th century... unique also the children's museum with its 300m² dedicated to young visitors discovering the maritime world.

Tiffauges Castle
Approximately 1 hour away, this is the largest medieval site in the West. It is open from April to September. It is a conservatory of war machines.
With its diversity, films and shows on the life of the castle and Gilles de Rais (Bluebeard), it will appeal to young and old alike.

Maillezais Abbey
In the south of the département, this is the largest site in the Marais Poitevin, with the magnificent ruins of the abbey nestling in the heart of the marshland.
After visiting the abbey, you can also cruise the canals by hiring a boat from one of the many landing stages for an unforgettable day out! Closed from 12 November to the end of February.
Nieul-sur-l'Autize Abbey
1h15 away, one of the finest examples of Romanesque architecture in the Bas-Poitou region, with its 12th-century cloister. A visit to this magical place is a must!

The Vendée islands
Discover our 2 islands of Yeu and Noirmoutier from the Calme des Pins hotel.
For the Ile d'Yeu, you can take a ferry from Saint Gilles Croix de Vie or Fromentine and cycle around this magnificent pearl of the Atlantic Ocean for a day.
For Noirmoutier, nothing could be simpler, via the bridge or, more typically and tide permitting, the Gois pass. Discover the typical beach huts of the Bois de la Chaise and other wonders of the island.
